Short Bio

Sultana Rahim is a young American artist with an intense passion for both 2D and 3D art. Bridging the gap between the two with traditional and new wave approaches via paints and programs.

Statement

"My goal is to create conceptual artwork that emphasizes the rendering (or absence of rendering) across a wide range of subjects from persons, places, and even to pure feelings .

Utilizing traditional mediums along with digital programs, the various tools I use has a great impact on the final product. However, how much or how little the image is developed always remains the core focus of every piece. I enjoy being able to work with something as smooth as a computer screen to create an object that challenges the surface with its appearance. A traditional piece typically sticks in a painter's realm, being made with watercolor or acrylic paints on canvas. Occasionally I’ll even utilize both digital and traditional tools for a project.

Truthfully, I love to present and embrace the unique qualities of art. Even when using an image reference of real places or objects, I'll use a stylistic approach to convey their forms. Finding inspiration in the world and the constant fluidity everything offers, I am always changing my process without ever settling on just one way of creating."
